A Farmington Hills association request for a sidewalk initiated a joint
road renovation project with the City of Southfield. The renovation of Inkster Road between Shiawassee and Eight Mile included a sidewalk, road realignment, storm drains, curb, gutter and water main replacement. Gateway Park was installed on the construction staging area at Eight Mile by Farmington Hills. The park includes a rain garden, trees, flowering shrubs, an entrance sign, paver walkway and a retaining wall.
