The President's Plaque Award:
Farmington Public Schools ENvironmental Sustainability Project
In 2008, Farmington Public Schools adopted a Sustainability Policy and Procedure which sets forth actions the District will take to reduce the use of energy resources, minimize the impact of its operations on the environment and enhance the use of renewable resources and recycled materials.
Bishop's Bog Preserve is registered with the Nature Conservancy, and West The goal as staff, students, and parents is to reduce their carbon footprint, which means this project and goal is ongoing.
Their efforts are paving the way for great environmental stewardship and sustainability in the lives of students, while also having a positive impact on the general budget.
