The President's Plaque Award:
Stone COttage Gardens—Gladwin
Stone Cottage Gardens was first created as a day lily farm in 1995, but has expanded to offer perennials, herbs, garden art, natural garden products, and an area for weddings and other gatherings.
Over the past 14 years, David and Mary Moore, using personal financing, have created a nursery where customers can view hundreds of perennials in natural garden settings. Striving to retain the substance of the old 1920's dairy farm, they have restored the 40'x 60' gambrel roof barn, and have planted numerous gardens which were built and maintained by part-time employees.
Customers return to this tranquil setting frequently because they consider Stone Cottage Gardens to be a hidden treasure and a peaceful haven.
