Perry Durham, Taylor: Creation of 12 Way Stations for Butterfllies
A lifelong resident of Taylor, Perry Durham has been involved in the creation of Butterfly Way Stations in the City of Taylor at business and residential properties, beginning with his own backyard. In 1999, Mr. Durham became a Master Gardener through Michigan State University. He later became interested in Butterfly Way Stations and after creating one in his own yard, he met with city officials to encourage the establishment of Butterfly Way Stations throughout the city. While 12 Way stations have been planned, 8 have been installed so far. The residents of Taylor have had the opportunity to learn about the migration of butterflies, what plants attract them and in general, good garden maintenance
