Patricia Brown, President—5 Year Plastic Bag Recycling Project<
The Warren Garden Club, Branch of the WNF&GA, is proud to announce the completion of a Five Year Plastic Bag Recycling Project. Implemented in 2000, the program involved a weekly campaign to collect and package plastic bags for delivery to the ENVIRO-BAG Company. The company offered a school recycling program which paid the schools for the bags and converted all bags sent to them into their own brand of trash bags. The Warren Garden Dub collaborated with several schools to decrease the material going to the landfills. By October 2005, over 5 tons,—765,000 bags—had been recycled!
